About Isabella

On 21st August 2025 9-year old Isabella was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive subtype of myeloid leukaemia. Isabella’s AML has a genetic rearrangement which makes it difficult to treat and has a high relapse rate. For Isabella to have the best chance of recovery she needs a type of medication called a menin inhibitor. Menin inhibitors work by blocking the fusion of the leukaemia cells with the protein (menin) that they need to grow. This forces the leukaemia cells to differentiate and die. Menin inhibitors are a lifeline for children like Isabella but they are new and only a few are approved. Menin inhibitors are also exorbitantly expensive, and clinical trials (which make funding available) are limited. To cover the cost of the menin inhibitors we need to raise 498,480 pounds. If you are able to help by making a donation to, or sharing the details of, Isabella’s GoFundMe appeal, that would be amazing. Your support makes a difference.
